Co-Owner of Cup of Life Healing Center
When Jessie first came to me for help, she was an emotional mess. She had been trying to conceive for years, had finally gotten pregnant, and then miscarried. Three months later, when she arrived in my office, she was still distraught.
If you have ever suffered from infertility or know someone who has or had a miscarriage, you know what a sorrowful and painful time this can be. To finally get pregnant and then miscarry is devastating. All of the anger, doubt, fear, humiliation, and sadness lurking beneath the surface comes to a head in a “roller coaster from hell” ride that does not seem to have an end.
When I first met Jessie, this was precisely where she was at. She told me that she didn’t even have an ounce of HOPE left. I reminded her that she would not be in my office meeting with me if there were not at least an inkling of HOPE in her heart.
Hope is the most powerful emotion that we have available to us. If we have HOPE, anything is possible. Hope makes the “impossible” possible.
Every patient I see, no matter what they are coming in for, I aim to restore quality of life and HOPE without unwanted side-effects. That is why I share Jessie’s story today.
TIME FOR A VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT STOP ANY PRESCRIBED MEDICATIONS WITHOUT MEDICAL SUPERVISION OR WITHOUT CONSULTING THE PRESCRIBING PHYSICIAN. ABRUPTLY STOPPING MEDICATIONS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS, EVEN FATAL, EFFECTS. EVERY SITUATION IS UNIQUE, THIS CASE INCLUDED, AND IT IS VERY IMPORTANT YOU NOT GENERALIZE THESE RESULTS TO YOURSELF. TO FIND OUT IF THE UNIQUE METHODS OF TREATMENT OUTLINED IN THIS CASE HISTORY MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT FOR YOU, YOU MAY SCHEDULE A FREE INITIAL CONSULTATION.
Jessie learned about Cup of Life Healing Center from a random, late-night internet search. She had been frustrated and just looking for answers. She had read about all of the treatments available involving drugs and possible surgeries. She had researched surrogates and even adoption.
After taking in all this information, she knew she wanted to pursue an all-natural, holistic approach before heading down the path of western fertility treatments.
She came across our website, and our simple, all-natural process piqued her interest. She called the next day and scheduled her free initial consultation.
When Jessie arrived for her free initial consultation, she was, understandably, very hesitant. She was still in a lot of emotional pain from the experience of her miscarriage and reluctant to trust that anyone could help.
We welcomed her in, and when the free consultation began, I invited her to tell her whole story about why she was seeking help. I gave her permission to let it all out. She wanted so badly to have a baby but could not figure out what was “wrong” with her that she could not do this “simple” task that she “all women can do.”
When I heard those words, I knew that whether or not she became my patient, I wanted her to leave that day knowing two things. First, there was nothing “wrong” with her, and second, there is nothing “simple” about having a baby.
Our bodies are a perfect design. Our body’s resources get allocated where it “thinks” we want them to be. For instance, if we work into the evening’s late hours, the body may shift its resources to support the toll this takes instead of keeping a pregnancy.
I also explained that having a baby is nothing short of a miracle. The amount of statistically impossible things that need to come together at the correct times is astronomical. Even something being slightly off can keep this miracle from happening.
So, I assured Jessie that we’d helped many women achieve pregnancy before, and we could help her too.
As we continued with the consultation, I shared with Jessie our unique approach and my process of finding the root cause of her symptoms. Understanding the root cause helps us target a multi-faceted treatment with acupuncture, dietary recommendations, targeted herbs and supplements, and mind-body guidance.
I also reminded Jessie of just how powerful her body is and that simple changes in everyday life can make a profound difference. Sometimes a few targeted adjustments can create essential shifts in our biology, including creating the right conditions to conceive and carry a pregnancy to term.
Jessie knew, at that point, that my methodology was what she was looking for. She felt a confidence that she had not had since before her miscarriage. She booked her Initial Intake appointment before she left.
Jessie’s Journey to Pregnancy
Jessie returned for her initial intake appointment still a little skeptical but ready to make changes. She REALLY wanted to have a baby.
I began asking more detailed questions based on what she told me at the free consultation and what she had noted in her intake forms. We uncovered some critical factors that may have lead to not only infertility but also miscarriage.
After Jessie’s first treatment, she said she felt amazing. She could not remember the last time she felt so relaxed.
At the end of her intake appointment, I gave Jessie a comprehensive, written treatment plan which we reviewed together for clarity. The treatment plan included:
- Some specific nutritional supplements focused on precisely what Jessie needed.
- Some simple yet powerful dietary shifts.
- Weekly acupuncture treatments to calm the nervous system and prepare the body for pregnancy.
- Instructions on meditation/affirmation practices to reprogram her subconscious to expect success.
Jessie scheduled her future treatments and left that day feeling hopeful (she felt calm and confident) and empowered (she had a plan that she understood) in her new path to motherhood.
Jessie returned for regular weekly follow-up visits. Each week, she reported feeling more and more relaxed. The treatments and guidance she was getting from me improved her outlook on life in general, not just her confidence in having a baby.
I would love to tell you that the next month, Jessie was pregnant. That was not the case, though. Despite the on-going journey, she felt amazing. Friends and co-workers told her that she had a way about her now that just drew them in.
She was happy and hopeful.
Every week, I could tell her DESIRE remained strong, which made it all worth it. And her sense of HOPE continued to grow.
At the end of the fourth month, she did not get her period. As it turns out, Jessie was pregnant!
Pregnancy for Jessie, understandably, created a mix of feelings. She was so excited, but she also remembered how excited she was to be pregnant before and how much the miscarriage hurt her. I assured her that the changes that we were working on would help her carry to term.
Jessie continued to follow the treatment plan faithfully.
We met for weekly treatments through her first trimester. Continued weekly treatments made a huge difference in supporting her body in sustaining the pregnancy along with morning sickness and the plethora of changes that come during this time.
Once things were stable and she made it through those critical first 12 weeks, we shifted to monthly treatments.
Monthly visits allowed us to check-in and make sure everything was moving along well until she was 36 weeks pregnant. At which point, we returned to weekly treatments to prepare for delivery.
Jessie delivered her baby in week 41 with no complications. Both Mom and baby are happy and healthy.
Through it all, Jessie kept two key ingredients alive. Her deep DESIRE to have a baby and HOPE. When we mix HOPE and DESIRE we have the strength to carry forward.
